Mr. Adams’
Assessment and Evaluation Philosophy

Sound Assessment and Evaluation Practices:
  • Support student learning.
  • Allow students to practice and reflect on the skills of learning.
  • Allow the student and Mr. Adams to monitor each student’s progress toward the acquisition of the key learnings of the course.
  • Are eventually reflected in a mark.
Student Responsibilities and Expectations

The student will:
  • Complete all course work.
  • Provide evidence, as required, of the learning related to the content and the skills of the course.
  • Plan and complete the “process” of course products name my cause so that all course related work is completed and submitted by the deadline.
  • Make every effort to complete all quizzes, presentations, essays, tests, demonstrations, etc on the day and timed schedule.
  • Should notify Mr. Adams ASAP, on the rare occasion, when it is impossible to complete schoolwork as scheduled. The Student will provide a note of explanation and cooperate fully with Mr. Adams to complete the task.
  • Maintain the integrity of course work by employing academic honesty – one of the qualities of a person with good character.
A student can expect:

  • Support, instruction and feedback to complete all schoolwork.
  • A variety of assessments and evaluations throughout the course.
  • The timely return of course-related products.
  • Fair and equitable treatment on all issues related to Assessment and Evaluation.
Consequences

If a student:
  • Fails to submit an assignment on time, Mr. Adams, using professional judgment, will engage the student in a process to ensure that the student has met course expectations. If the learning expectations are not demonstrated, the student will have earned a zero.
