Glen
Brown is a writer, teacher and musician in Hamilton, Ontario.
After graduating from Mohawk in 1984, Glen joined the Hamilton Musician's Guild and continued to take freelance gigs in the Hamilton area. He continued his studies at McMaster University where he studied percussion and Music Education. He was a percussionist with the McMaster Concert Band and the McMaster Symphony Orchestra. After graduating with Honours from Mac in 1987, Glen was accepted at the Faculty of Education at the University of Toronto and obtained his Ontario Teacher's Certification in 1988. Glen began teaching at Lockerby Composite School in Sudbury, Ontario, where he taught instrumental music and visual art for four years. He was a percussionist with the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, a percussion instructor at Cambrian College, and the choir director at Lansing Avenue Baptist Chapel. He returned to Hamilton in 1992 to continue teaching music in the public school system. He has taught instrumental music at Tweesdmuir Middle School, Memorial School, and Viscount Montgomery School in Hamilton. Glen continues to perform regularly as a freelance drummer and write for select clientele in the Hamilton area. He and his wife Brenda are the proud parents of three talented children.
