Glen Brown is a writer, teacher and musician in Hamilton, Ontario.

Glen Brown was born in Edmonton, Alberta and moved to Oakville, Ontario as a child where he began studying music at the age of ten. During high school he was an active member of the school's very active band program, and a member of the Oakville Concert Band. Upon graduating high school in 1979 Glen was a member of the Burlington Teen Tour Band and marched with the Redcoats in the 1979 Tournament of Roses Parade. In 1981 Glen moved to Hamilton to study drums at Mohawk College's Applied Music Program. During his time at Mohawk, Glen played drums for all kinds of performing groups, including small jazz ensembles, professional summer project bands, and the Mohawk College "Dues" Big Band. He also taught private music lessons.

After graduating from Mohawk in 1984, Glen joined the Hamilton Musician's Guild and continued to take freelance gigs in the Hamilton area. He continued his studies at McMaster University where he studied percussion and Music Education. He was a percussionist with the McMaster Concert Band and the McMaster Symphony Orchestra. After graduating with Honours from Mac in 1987, Glen was accepted at the Faculty of Education at the University of Toronto and obtained his Ontario Teacher's Certification in 1988.

Glen began teaching at Lockerby Composite School in Sudbury, Ontario, where he taught instrumental music and visual art for four years. He was a percussionist with the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, a percussion instructor at Cambrian College, and the choir director at Lansing Avenue Baptist Chapel. He returned to Hamilton in 1992 to continue teaching music in the public school system. He has taught instrumental music at Tweesdmuir Middle School, Memorial School, and Viscount Montgomery School in Hamilton.

Glen continues to perform regularly as a freelance drummer and write for select clientele in the Hamilton area. He and his wife Brenda are the proud parents of three talented children.
