The latest from G-STAR...
G-STAR (Glendale Students Talking Against Racism) has been very busy this fall. In addition, to attending numerous community events, we celebrated the holidays by volunteering The Good Shepherd Centre’s annual Christmas dinner held at The Convention Centre. In addition, we are planning a board –wide Social Justice Summit for the spring. Our pinnacle KEEP THE BEAT event will be held on Friday, April 17th. This is an all night café of music and poetry which will feature both Glendale students as well as local talent.
If you would like to assist with this event in any capacity, please do not hesitate to contact me here at Glendale. (905) 560-7343 X184

Our Adopt a Village Committee has also been very busy and productive this semester. During the month of October we sold Chrysanthemums at East gate Mall and raised $280.00 for The Clean Water Project in the Masai Mara Region of Kenya. Then, on November 27th, we held our annual Multi-Cultural Show, with two added features-talent and fashion. It was a great success and we were even featured on the final airing of CH News at noon with Matt Hayes! The $1200.00 which we raised allowed us to meet our goal of $6500.00.
We are now beginning a new project for Adopt a Village. The students have decided on the Sustainable Income Project which allows rural communities in Kenya to work towards self-sufficiency. We are planning another fund-raiser for the spring and certainly welcome any help from the Glendale community.
If you would like further information, or would like to assist in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school. (905) 560-7343 X184
